shrinking ps2 games

i have gone through trying to find an answer but i dont seem to be able to find it, so i do apologise if this subject has already been covered
i have backed up a ps2 cd game and i am getting a dvd writer to backup dvd games but how do i shrink a big game to fit on a dvdr (and what tools to use)
also does a psx mutiplayer tap work on ps2
