"New functionality in 6.01
Multisession for DVD media formats
The data project can now also create multisession DVD discs. This supports all current recordable DVD formats: DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+R and DVD+RW. Multisession discs can be created in all supported file system formats, being UDF, ISO 9660 and Joliet.
Support for VariRec
WinOnCD 6.01 supports using the VariRec function of Plextor CD-Recorders.
DiscT@2 preview
The images for DiscT@2, a unique feature of Yamaha CD-Recorders, can now be previewed in the label editor.
Improvements in 6.01
Audio CD volume too low
Audio discs that were created with empty layers in the editor had too low overall volume. This has been fixed.
Files larger than 4 GB cause data project to fail
When adding a file to the data project that is larger than 4 GByte, creating the disc failed. This has been fixed. Note that you can still only create files up to 4 GB individual size in the data project with ISO 9660 and Joliet file systems. For individual files larger than 4 GB, you must use the UDF file system only.
Creating or copying CD-TEXT with „Make Image & Burn Disc“ setting causes exception
When selecting the write oprion „Make Image & Burn Disc“ for a CD-TEXT disc (CD-TEXT project or CD-Copy), WinOnCD caused an exception before writing the image to disc. This has been fixed.
Equalizer master slider without function
In the audio project, the master volume sliders of the Equalizer effects were without function. This has been fixed.
Sorting files in data project
Sorting files in the file listing in the data project by time, origin, size etc. did not work. This has been fixed.
VideoCD Photo Album infinite playtime
It was not possible to set an infinite playtime for a picture in the VideoCD Photo Album, which was possible with WinOnCD 5. This function has been added.
Audio disc project time does not include pause length
For audio projects, the total playtime did not reflect the pause length between two tracks. This has been fixed.
MountIt fails to load with insufficient user rights
Under Windows 2000 and XP, MountIt failed to access the Drive Emulator if the user has insufficient security privileges. This has been fixed.
Encoding video on some Celeron CPUs causes an exception
On AMD K6 and older Intel Celeron CPUs („Mendocino“-Kernel, usually less than 533 MHz), an exception occurs in MP2ENCRH.DLL during video encoding to MPEG. This has been fixed.
Accessing Gracenote CDDB through proxy server fails
When trying to access the Gracenote CDDB server for CD title lookup with an internet configuration that uses an http proxy server, the connection failed. This has been fixed.
Improvements in 6.0a
The service pack 6.01 includes all changes made in version 6.0a (aka Fixpack 1). These changes inlcude:
Entrypoint improvements
Instead of creating new playitems, a menu button can be created for each Entrypoint (Only if Menu-Control was selected in the Album properties). Thus the movie will not be written to the disc multiple times.
Re-encoding settings
Force re-encoding now has three sub-entries: Always, strict and tolerant. The tolerant setting will only re-encode material if it is absolutely unavoidable, the strict setting (default) will re-encode any material not conforming to the standard. The tolerant setting will accept movies with the following deviations:
- NTSC instead of PAL (or vice versa)
- Wrong Video resolution
- Wrong Audio Samplerate
Warning: Using this setting may cause playback problems on some DVD players!
Improved DVD playback compatibility
Improved playback-compatibility for DVD discs, especially with Philips drives.
Reduced seek time
Seek time when editing large video files has been significantly reduced.
You have to uninstall this ServicePack manually when removing WinOnCD from your System."
