I haven't been able to get my recently purchased Toshiba SD-R6012 combo drive to work in my Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100 select-bay drive (bios reports IDE #1 Error). [A Toshiba Tech had told me it should be compatible, before I bought it in December.]
Has anyone had success with this combination? If so, how? I saw a thread on this list earlier by a member who says they had this setup (http://www.dvdrbase.com/archive/index.php/t-33210).
The latest Tech support diagnosis says the problem is that the connector-adapter on my current DVD/CDRW combo drive (Matshita UJDA720) is not compatible with the sd-R6012 pinout. I don't know where I can get a compatible adapter. And the Toshiba Service center techs weren't sure either.
