Santa's coming to my house.

I have been informed that a fat dude in a really gaudy suit will be visiting my house with presents. I want a DVD player but admit to total confusion in this area. I burn DVD-+R/RW and would like a few suggestions from folk about what would be a suitable choice. I asked a salesman from one of our retailers here in the colonies (Australia) but he was more confused than me. Any suggestions?

Pioneer A/106 would be my choice. :)

Or if the fat dude can delay his visit for a few weeks....... :D

The new Pioneer A07 should be out early Jan with 8X DVD+/-R burning capabilities.

I believe that will be a nice burner but at what price? I bet it will be over $250 (us). So I just order the OptoRite DD0401 ($139.99) and I believe if I use good media I shouldn't have a problem. Lets hope.:D Also I've been read that the 8x burners might be able by a firmware update to do dual layer, now that would be nice.
