Safedisk 2.51xxx burn check

Before I start - I have borrowed this from another well known forum and am not trying to take any credit whatsoever!!!!!
I don't think its been posted here b4? and just thought it would be of interest.

The attached file is a CloneCD image which basically contains the safedisk 2.51 copy protection. If you can use CloneCD to burn this image (std safedisk copy options) and then from the CD you have just burnt copy the file on it BACK to your hard drive your burner should be capable of burning SD 2.51xxx protected games.
If you get errors copying the file from the burnt CD back to your HD then your burner is incompatible.

Have a go and post ya results - if this test is accurate then my Plex 2410A passes the test with the latest CloneCD beta (21), I have not got a SD 2.51xxx protected game to have a go for real though unfortunately.

P.S you should use another device to read the burnt CD from if you have one.:D

no need as the plex 24x can't do safedisk 2.51 properly =). You would need 40x but even so, the Lite-On burners work better for that protection scheme (& are far cheaper). However the plex far outdoes the lite-on on music CDs.
Settings & such discussions have been posted before, but never hurts to post new things or re-enforce them.
I'm sure this test you posted will help others a lot =).

Sony 24x10x40x copied this fine. Tried the cd in several different cd-roms and none of them had a problem.

Model# CRX175A/A1

Guess I must be lucky with my drive, I've copied several sd2 games, both 2.51 and the new version (2.61 I think) with my Plextor 24/10/40A, and the copies have work in my liton dvd and sony oem 48x cdrom, and also work with this test! I seem to have bucked the trend yet again! :)
