Looks like some cards will be supplied with an adapter, and low-midrange may not need additional power.

Cool I didn't know that not on to PCI express yet. So other then that what do you think of that PS?

Looked at a couple of others, found this one "ATRIX PSCI-500BLK" - a supposed 500W with only 15A rating on the crucial 12v line.

I don't know the Rosewill, but the 22A rating on 12v (for a 450W) seems to be much better balanced for today's sytems, where the CPU and graphics both drink 12V power like alcoholics on the booze.

Many PSU's seem to be designed for the days when 12v only powered the motors!

I must admit, I do like the "big fan inside" style of PSU.


One thing, skimping on the PSU is false economy - the best names can hit their ratings and still deliver clean, reliable power, but cheaper ones need derating.
One way that some deal with the increasing 12v demand, is "dual 12v" - though that brings the issue of splitting the load appropriately.

Do to your input I stuck with Rosewill and I went with thier better line for the same price.

Looks like decent enough specifications, and not a bad price for an aluminum cased unit (so it can break the "reassuringly heavy") rule.

So far, I've had bad experiences with a couple of dual fans.

1. A Q-TEC - with -V rails so far out that they tripped the motherboard voltage alarms.
2. A no-name, which has a 5v on the low edge of tolerance - and eventually just became unreliable.

My new (bought, not built) PC is powered by a FSP 350 - a little shocked to see such a low unit driving a P4 3.2GHz Prescott, but it is a GOOD 350W
