i used dvd decrypter to rip a dvd, no problem. used dvd shrink to strip only the main movie, no problem. Burnatonce only works with Pioneer, PROBLEM! i have the decrypted, stripped out movie waiting to be put to DVD on my HD and i can't burn it. i tried bao, but it said it wrote 3.5 GB after like, 2 sec. and actually didn't write anything. there was a big warning that it only works with pioneer, but i tried anyway. it was ver .99b. so then i checked the "image file" check box, compiled and saved the contents of the Video_TS as a .iso file, then went back to dvd decrypter to try using the iso write mode to write that image file to dvd, but that gave I/O errors. my roxio cd creator 5 basic will only do data, and mydvd 4 by Sonic just plain sucks. how can i get this movie off my HD and onto Dvd -R without paying an arm and leg for software?
it is a liteon 4X dual format drive. i've done test burns with some data so i know it is burning. need help....

img tool

i downloaded img tool, but don't see a setting to be able to save a TS folder as an img file ON THE HD. it seems that this only supports burning the TS folder straight to disc. that is ok, but right now i have aspi layer of adaptec and will have to uninstall that and install the nero one to support imgtool. as dvd decrypter uses the adaptec aspi, this could get to be a pain to flip back and forth. am i missing the option to save the iso to the HD in imgtool? i DL ver 1.1. should i use a rev back?

You need to d/l ImgTool Classic, which is just below the one you d/l which as you have found is a tool for burning straight away with Nero.

ImgTool Classic 0.91.1 is the one you want and it works very well in using DVD Decrypter to burn your finished .iso file. :)

guess it's not the iso

after i posted the last mess, i did d/l the classic version, created an iso image of the ts folder onto the HD, then got the same i/o error in dvd decrypter when i tried to burn the iso. it says "writing leadin", fills up the buffer, then sits there for a few and then the write retries scroll up to 20, give the error "failed to write sectors 16-31 - command sequence error" it always seems to be the same message. anyone got any ideas? it seems to be a prob with decrypter maybe.

file system

using ntfs in win2k. i am using memorex dvd-r, and it's happened on 3 different discs now, so i don't think it's the disc

discs

has anyone ever had a problem with memorex dvd-r's? since it happened the same way 3 times, i'm leaning toward a prob with decrypter, unless the whole batch of dvd's is bad or memorex don't work or something.

ntfs...then there should be no prob with the 4gig barrier for fat32
And stop wasting DVD-R, use a DVDRW for testing.
Do you get this prob for a specific movie or is it random?

I use memorex dvdrs all the time and never had a problem. There's a few more things to try. Re-install dvd decrypter. Update the firmware for the drive. When you ripped with dvd decrypter did you rip the whole dvd or just the movie files? Did you rip the ifo file also?

must be the dvd's

i just dug out the dvd rw that came with the drive. dvd+rw i believe. i used the exact same procedure for burning the iso file in decrypter and it burned no problem! i played it in my standalone on the tv and it looks great. i don't know what it is, but i better check the return policy for this 10 pack! thanks for the tip on the imgtool Blane. if you all couldn't tell i'm a total newbie to burning dvd's, but have been around PC's for a good while. thanx to all of you for the tips, i guess i'll just stick with the dvd rw's.

Glad you got it worked out. Hey were all newbies in one way or another. There's something new to learn everyday.
