repair a mpeg header

so i have a mpeg file that meets vcd/dvd compliancy, when i try to create a vcd using nero i get an error saying it doesn't meet vcd standards, and promps to ignore or re-encode.i dont want to re-encode because the quality is already low.so i opened the file with avi codec and it gives me this

so i load it into TMPGEnc and try to demux, and it just ends and i only have first 8 min... then i load it into VirtualDubMod and get this error

leading me to believe that the problem is in the audio header, with VDubMod try to demux audio and stops after first 8 min same as TMPGEnc, but will let me save as wave. so i do that then re-encode with besweet to mpeg1 layer2 no probs. then open TMPGEnc try to mux original mpeg video with the newly encoded audio, and it finished entirely.. but when i play back, no video after the 8min. marker, but audio is fine for full length.. i believe the audio header for the original video is causing this, but cannot extract the video

so what i need is a prog to repair the header or that can extract the video
thanks

The VirtualDUBMOd results show problems with both Video & Audio, timestamping being indicated as the problems. Have you tried burning to VCD using VCDEasy, it fixes many timestamping problems. Try other Demuxers other than TMPGEnc, such as MPEG-VCR, M1(2)-Edit, bbMPEG, etc. as well. VCDGear also has a "fix" option, but never used it. Make sure you work with a copy and not your original file as well.
