removing win xp startup programs

hmm.. i can see my Startup Programs from Accessories-->System Tools-->System Information-->Software Environment-->Startup Programs but how to remove those which i dont need...?

Hi mate,

try this...

Start Menu ..... Run ..... msconfig .....
..... Startup

and uncheck the ones you dont require,
some of those you see in system information are system processes - and you may be unable to remove them from startup with msconfig.

they might require the use of a tweak prog or something that allows to select what system processs to startup or not . . . . i believe tweak xp had a similar feature.

If you are not very confident get a friend to look at this for you.

It does help as well.

This forum is about helping each other - if you have something helpful to offer - please by all means do so.

If members like yourself continue to help each other in threads, we mods will be outta a job soon (not that we get paid or anything, @woody - why arent we? :D)
