Remove Xp Write Engine

Is there a way to UNINSTALL (not only deactivate) the integrated "burning" util ?
Is there a script or something like that which can remove every byte of this crap ?

I can´t see the reason. When the service is stopped from control-panel it´s gone. All left is some drivers not in use. It´s the same as with all other deactivated services..they are a part of the OS. XP has a lot of features available but not used by a lot of us.

From what I've read it is possible to remove it completely. However since it is an integrated XP product, some have reported removal of these files may cause your Windows to become unstable.

LaZorMan is correct turning this service off is the best way to prevent it from working. The files may be there, but Windows won't use them.

Sounds like you are familiar with this soulripper...right?! If not, post here again or do a search on this forum and you will find all the pertinant info.

Yes, I already stopped the service. But having these roxio files on my computer is a pain...
