I have bought a couple of Region 1 DVD's from America and unfortunately can't watch them. I do have an all region DVD but I think my issue is the television.

I know how to make a back up copy of a normal DVD Region 4 no problems but is there a way I can change the region code for some of the ones I have from 1 to 4 before I burn.

If you back up your R1 dvd and have used DVD Decrypter to rip to the HD initially, then it is now region free. But the Region is not your problem, as you say its your TV , time to get a new TV.

You could re-encoding the NTSC to PAL. Just follow the Tute at http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=26515 but in the main Conversion Tab, tick the NTSC to PAL box. Thats for Main movie only though.

When playing the DVD the TV screen roles and I can't stop it. Someone said it was possibly that I had a TV that didn't play NTSC only Pal.
I just want to change it then so I can watch the movies. Hoping that I can do this fairly easily too.
