recovering lost data ???

is there any way of recoving data after a format or after restoring an image...please help asap as i'm desperate

What have you done ?
Formatted your partition and restored an image to it after that ?

If you search forum for "restore" you will find a lot of strong tools that can dig into this problem, but I doubt it will be possible to restore after you has written image to disk.

If it is not so, let us know.
