Recording DVD to CD-R

Someone please help me! I'm very new to this....I have a sony DVD player and a Mitsumi CDRW...now I was told I can copy dvds on to cdrs..is this true and how the heck do ya do it? I've downloaded dvd copying software..but I can't seem to get it to work..any help would be appreciated....PLEASE..this is driving me insane.

go to the movie section, then read the tutorial chickenman made...i used it...GREAT WORK

There is nothing on vcdhelp to compare with chickenmans tuts.
If there was no chickenman then it would be a good idea.
