Recommendations for CD-RW + DVD-ROM?

I know this may seem lazy, but i want to get a new CD-RW drive and DVD-ROM drive. I've checked around the forum and it looks like the Lite-On 40X and DVD LTD163 would do the job nicely. Any suggestions or alternates? Would mainly be audio and the odd dreamcast game + pc game.
Sorry for being lazy just wanted a kind of YES/NO approval.

Both of the choices you mentioned are excellent. The LTD 163 has trouble with audio protections.

As far as I know the 40X Liteon Cdrw can handle most of the audio protections. It can do all video games that are currently out .Except for Tages and Starforce of course.Need Users experience on audio protection with it.;)

For CD-RW the TEAC CD-W540 and the Liteon ones are trustworty and best value for money writers, I think.
As for DVD-Rom, the Pioneer DVD-106S is, for me, the most reliable concernind DVD and Audio playback and Ripping. But check also the Liteon LTD-163D and LTD-165H as the Pioneer doesn't support subchannel :(. Liteons are honest drives in general. Their weak poin is that the sometimes can be too noisy and fussy... ;) Good luck.

Just ordered the 40X Lite-on, not sure on the DVD-ROM yet so am going to leave it a little while - i'm in no rush really.
Thanks all.
