RealMedia DirectShow Filter - RealMediaSplitter 1.0.0.2

Just tried this DirectShow filter with Windows Media Player 6.4 and it works... :D

Anyways, to use this:
1. Unzip the file to a folder (Your system folder is a good place)

2. From that folder, run this command to install
regsvr32 RealMediaSplitter.ax

Be sure to have the codecs installed before using this DirectShow filter or it will not work. After installing, you should be able to play RealMedia content using a DirectShow capable player.

To uninstall, run this command:
regsvr32 /u RealMediaSplitter.ax

Have Fun! ;)

Yep, been playing with it since v1.0.0.0, it didn't work so good back then, although it seems to be working fine now, including rm files remuxed into mkv.

If you are using media player classic then depending on the file extension used your file may playback using the old real media routines, the next version should have an option to disable it.

Also if you are using rm remuxed into matroska, then you need to disable the built in splitter.

The splitter has no problem playing normal RealMedia files, but it seems when you try RMVB files, the player quits...
Hope that is fixed in the next version! :D

You still need to have real player installed or at least its codecs.

No idea about playing streaming content though, as I have only tested it with local files. For more info on this you probably should check out the original thread over at doom9.
