I got the "4 hour freebie" special on WinOnCD5

When it worked, it was nice - when you get used to the way the filter/effect track works, it's very powerful.

It just ain't stable for me though - at best, it gave a LONG "busy cursor" after closing - with problems reloading.
Now (maybe it doesn't like my video driver) the button bars don't come up....

I'll try reinstalling - and possibly when I have to FDISK this heap of a system .... Windows rot at it's finest.

Beats me though - it did at least work after installing, and I don't recall changing anything really significant.

Maybe it's my machine, Nero works fine (classic), but Express is almost a guaranteed crash.

thanks ltr for your response

ive no probs loading or unloading ( windows me)

i know these progs are a bit touchy if another prog --say nero -is in,
surprisingly, even though i did a full uninatall of my earlier versions there was still a lot of the old cequadrat stuff in the registry.

do you get a prompt to copy to hard disc each mp3 track? could be a software fault...

on a different note, just looking into the epson 950, apparrantly this not only prints the disc, but cuts out the paper as well ,must admit im tempted , but at + £250 mmm.
anyone tried this one?

regards

The "4 hour freebie" worked just great for me- in fact i was very impressed with its stability.
I have kept it "somewhere"- simply not the type of application I like, i prefer simpler stuff.

I suppose we'd better explain the "4 hour freebie".....

Once upon a time, in a Galaxy far far away and a long time ago, there was a rumour going around several forums that CEQUADRAT would be offering a free full download, over a 4 hour interval (midnight +/- 2 hours in a US timezone, if I recall).

I remember groggily awakening at 7am Sunday (UK) and going to the site - initially disappointed, but then applied a forced refresh and found it was ON.

Not sure if it was celebrating something, I forget if the date was significant.

Despite rumours that it, or something else, might be repeated, if it was, I've never heard about it.
