Re-authoring with subtitles to correct audio sync

Hi :)

I've recently encoded an avi with 'The film Machine' and added forced subtitles for parts of the movie with foreign language.

The encode was fine but the resulting audio is before video, by about 60ms.
As 'The Film Machine' appears only to be able to delay the audio, I want to advance it.
This I would normally do by adjusting the audio using 'AC3 Delay Corrector' and then re-authoring with 'DVD Author pro' but my problem is with reauthoring with the necessary forced subs, which DVD Author Pro wont allow me to do.

I've tried correcting the ac3 audio stream and muxing back to the avi using VirtualDubMod and re-encoding, but that didn't seem to work ?

How could I get around my sync problem and retain the subtitles?

Thanx for your help guys!

Hi Teebee :)

Thanx for your reply. Haven't tried dvdlabpro, had a quick look at a site and it seems as tho you can add all the necessary streams to compile a DVD but the piece of software does seem awfully expensive!

I've tried adding the .srt sub file to the avi using VDubmod to make it permanent
and allthough the newly created avi file is a little larger than the original to suggest it has been added sucessfully, it wont display them when the file is played back?
