random thought....... about software and firewalls

ok I was thinking.....while messing with flashfxp if you try to register it it checks with the flashfxp site to see if you are legit....and I use a software firewall (along with a NAT built into my router) kerio to be exact......but kerio never told me of flashfxp trying to get net access......so did it go around the firewall? question to think about is....how safe are we using software firewalls if shit can get by it???????? hehehehe call me paraniod..

kerio & sygate popped up for me whenever I tried using flashfxp, so perhpas there was a setting you made that bypassed it, (like whenever you use it to go to an ftp or something & you allowed it then).
Not sure, perhaps you should just go through your rules & such or wipe a few out to test again. I never have it set to always allow anything, always have it ask me, so you know for sure where it is going.
Anyone else encountered the same thing as wickdedz?
