Raid > ABIT KR7A-133R & XP..

I registered my copy of XP Home edition before thinking of dabbling with Raid.. will a format/reinstall and use of Raid count as a 'change' to XP.. and get me closer to having to contact Microsoft?


Does anyone have a good idiots guide to Raid?

I would like my video capture HD on one of the Raid channels, have my C: drive on its own on one of the ide ribbons, with DVD-R amd CDRW on the other...

any thoughts..?

My current set-up

Motherboard: ABIT KR7A-133R
Memory: 512mb DDR

Primary master - C:\ Seagate ATA100 20gigs
Primary slave - D:\ Maxtor ATA133 40gigs

Secondary slave - Pioneer A04 DVD-R RW
Secondary master - Lite-On LTR-32123S

..and the two Raid channels are just sitting there, unused..

I am aware of the benefits of using Raid, but not that technically adept with the settings..

Any help appreciated.

Why not have both hard drives as masters on your raid and your cdr/dvd as masters on the other two ide contollers.If you are doing video capture its best to have your hard drive on its own cable.Not sure about the ms thing as I have devilsown corp.
