quick xbox mod question

If i install a mod on my xbox will i be able to play-back-ups...That is all i want to do ,,Just play back-up disc cd-rw-dvd-r...etc..
I'm sure that question has been asked a hundred times.i'm not looking to store games on my xbox..I just want to play back-ups...I was looking into the advance aladin mod.....Thanks for any help....

Yes, providing you flash the chip with the correct BIOS

then you'll need a DVD burner to make the backup of the game(s).
