do you guys know of a program that allows you to copy a dvd onto a cdr which is viewable on dvd players which doesnt require a dvd rom drive? i want to back up my anime collection and dont really wanna buy a dvd drive as i own a 300$ dvd player and a ps2..

Hi bud!Welcome to the forum!Yes there are many programs to convert Dvd to Cdr's.The big question is if your player will play the cdr's.No players are created equal,although most will play compliant Vcd or Svcd.We have some great tutorials listed here.You require a dvdrom drive to create the images.;)

You can find an excellent dvdrom drive cheap these days.I picked up a Liteon for 69$.They are the dvdrom drives of choice.;)

The other option(if you have a fast computer and capture card)is to feed your player output to the computer and capture.There will still be problems with copy protected titles.A dvdrom drive is a better choice.:)
