Quick Question: How do you back-up mail and settings in Mozilla Thunderbird?

I'm feeling a strong impulse to transfer my mail from Outlook Express to Mozilla Thunderbird. I'm guessing that I can just import the OE mail, and then manually set up the mail servers.

What I want to know is, when I decide to reinstall Windows, how do I backup Thunderbird mails? Are there other settings I could backup as well? I ask because the last time I committed to an alternative email client program (Eudora, years ago) I had endless trouble getting the mails backed-up and reinstalled to different partitions, and etc. Thanks!

My avatar/picture has never seemed to upload correctly.But the image is still 'previewed'(?) in user cp >avatar>user control panel! It`s the correct size,etc..Any ideas any1? :confused:
