Questions for Chickenman

I have a question about your tutorials. I used Smartripper recently and Stream Processing really speed things up. Can I use this feature when I am making vcd's also? Also when I rip the dvd to the HD using Smart Ripper can I use those files to make svcd and vcd or will I need to do it twice? The only differences that I saw were that on an svcd you have to check "Create Directories" and the Stream Processing tab.

Thanks again

Chickenman is probably asleep.
U can use stream proccessing for vcd with smartripper.
Just choose video(obviously!) and the soundtrack u want.
All other settings as per tutorial.
Which method r u using?
U should use the tmpgenc method for vcd and the DVD2SVCD (CCE) tutorial for SVCD for the best results.

I do use dvd2svcd for svcd's and I use Chickenman's tutorial for vcd which is uses the Panasonic Encoder.

Thanks.

I'm now awake, but your asleep !

Yes, you can use the one rip of the DVD for both SVCD and DVD use, not a problem there.

But as daveml has already said, use the other Tutorial for making VCD's, the one using DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc. It will produce a lot better quality picture, simpler and quicker

Use of Stream processing can also be used for VCD of course, and speeds up the conversion with TMPGEnc substantially. I have been doing it that way now for for almost 6 months and never had a problem.
