Question/impressions about novastor 3

Novastor recovery tool is an 'interesting' application...
i have two versions: ver 2 and the current ver 3.
my video card is geforce 3 (announced not to be supported by up to date the linux boot shell).
but, while i can always manually set up the video/screen with ver 2 without any problem - version 3 pretend to emmulate this all by itself. the resault is always confusing failure:

Fatal server error:
open_framebuffer : failed to open /dev/fbo (no such device)

XIO: fatal IO error 104 (connection reset by peer) on x server ":0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

this is the linux diag which i get after startx command which should open the manual set up options.
well, besides running xp system with geforce 3 i know about computers,my system is tuned and optimized from mb to case. on the other hand i am not linux fan,and in fact my knowledge about it is close to zero exept one partition containing mandrake 8.2 waiting for tests (i don't believe i will ever reach there) and i did not have ever any problem running whatsoever on it.
so, i e-mailed their tech support about it,and i wonder why the former version seems to be better (at least from my point of view)
guess after all, that the linux attitude may prevent this soficticated product from reaching mass sales proffits..
meanwhile i am using acronis true image (really nice tool) and former novastor 2.both do the job fine
any comments from the experts?
best wishes - jac.

re..

Thank's for the input poko,
but,if you will observ ir3 pdf you'll see that they are using the MANDRAKE kernal (they even suggest to visit mandrake.com for linux issues)...
well,it's a pitty that you cannot modify devices manually as with the ir2 with ir3,because i can run it on any system i tried so far.
btw - i didn't have such luck as you: 3 failure with ir3 from 4 systems (one home computer and 2 p3 800 netvista systems at my work, only newest p4 ibm netvista sucsseded)
and if you were so kind to leave comment can you tell me your opinion regards acronis true image dx (they have such perfect os boot manager so i think they deserve alook).
again,thanks for your input.
