Question for Chickenman about Maestro

Chickenman.. can you help? I am creating a dvdr with Maestro from 2 svcd's. I have carried out all the steps prior to the connections tab but after I have set some chapters in the connections tab, set the Target for the END ACTION of the last chapter of Movie1 to Chapter 00:00:00 of Movie2, do I need to set anything for the FIRST PLAY item or TITLE MENU. I have just right clicked and set both to MOVIE 1: Chapter 00:00:00:00 - is this correct and then I just compile? I do not have any menu by the way.

I remember reading this on a tutorial once, but I don't have a copy of a link to it anymore. Please help. Thanks.

If you have made a menu, then you link the First play to Menu1, not to Movie1. So when the DVD starts playing it automatically starts with the menu. You can then select the movie you want to play. Set the Traget for Menu to Menu1 one as well so if you press the Menu button on your remote control, it will jump to your menu.

You linked the 2 files of movie1 together just fine. Then set the action for the Last Chapter of Movie1 to Menu1 again. So when the 1st movie finishes, it jumps back to the Menu so you can either select the 2nd movie or what ever.

Hope that helps.

:) How come you know how to use so many good DVD Authoring programs when I can only be able to touch the simplest one. I was able to create couple DVD with Ulead MovieFactor v2 but it has audio sync problem, and the Menu option isn't very good. Tried the DVD workshop 2.x but it reported it required around 9.xG of DVD space, and around 75G of disk space (the same files fit the 4.7G using MovieFactor).

I am trying the Maestro but too complicate to get started ;) I have tried to read the instruction at Doom9 (or whatever) but can't seem to be able to follow the instruction (too new to DVD world yet). I guess I really need very simple basic steps with lot of pictures ;)

I dont really, I just use a lot of mirrors and magic :D :D

Okay, then try this site. Its a simple step by step and lots of pictures.

:p :p I have found and read that site 3-4 times but still little too much for the newbie me to follow yet. Hmmm I may have to print the whole thing to paper to read may help.

BTW, I have only played with DVD for the 2nd week and was able to make couple DVDs so it isn't so bad, but not enough experience to handle the more advance DVD authoring program like Maestro, and Sonic DVD Scenarist ;)

No wonder why my headache was pretty bad;) It only cost me a bathtub full of warn water to relax my sored muscle, some leftover headache from last try, I read through the first few pages of the 23 pages printed out I have found out why I can't review the movie (cuz this requires hardware, and the instruction has mentioned the Maxtro DVD Player which I will try to find it out). I got stuck here so many times and had to do more and more research ;)

After just read through few pages I see that the instruction is very clear, very helpful, and I believe I may be able to follow the instruction.

Hehe..yeah,that's why the one click solutions are doing so well.It is at the expense of a quality picture however.;)

Luuve the reading can be sore on the eyes at times and you may have to read over the same thing more then once to get a full understanding of what is needed.
Still we here are glad that you may have cracked it this time..
We await your report have a goodday/night..
:)
