Question about "How to fit two movies onto one DVD disc" Tutorial

Have followed this and works excellent!

...except...

it didn't include the subs.

I own some dvds that are double sided and I hate having to lift my ass from the couch to flip the DVD...

Any suggestions?
Any soft that does the same (with an equal user-friendly gui) and keeps the subs?

Try mixing in elements from the other guides ... the "Free and easy" one describes DVDShrink, and you can keep or drop subs and audio tracks at that point - not sure if the next stage retains them though - not into DVD myself, but that'll have to do until one of the DVD experts arrives.
