Question about captured video files

Is it possible to improve the quality of captured video files using a filter in VirtualDub? I'm asking this because my VCR only supports RCA Cables, if it had a port on it for S-Video, it would make things MUCH easier on me, higher quality video, and would be easier to set up and capture. My question is this. Since I have to use RCA to capture video, the signal from the VCR to my PC is good, but not the best it could be. When I watch the captured video file on my PC, it looks fine, but if you watch closely you can see interference. I would like to know what internal/external filters I might want to try for VirtualDub to improve the quality if possible at all. Thanks for any help.

yeah, I registered at kvcd.net forums, I'll post there again probably tomorrow, very doubtful anymore tonight though.

damn, I've already been there, and read about capturing, he says to avoid using WDM if at all possible, but in my case it's just not possible, since I have an e-GeForce4 Ti-4600 128mb. Thanks for the help though.
