PS2 Utillity CD ROM - upgrade DVD drivers?

1) Can you hook up a PS2 to a PC through fire wire and use the PS2 as a DVD drive?
2) If yes where can I get the drivers?
3) If no where can I get the utillity CD ROM that loads these drivers and do I need additional external HDD?

Any help would be most appricaited.

I'm not sure that you can, but with some of the homebrew dev apps the guys are building at the moment it may be possible...

I am after two things.

1) Does the PS2 Utillity CD ROM work in the PS2 like a windows CD ROM works on a PC, load it in and let the wizzard doe the work, hey presto updated drivers etc.....

2) If yes to 1, does that PS2 Utillity disk come from any one source, do you no where I can get one.
