PS2 Modchip Fifa 2003 Problem

I've had a magic 3 fitted to my PS2 and all seems fine except my backup of Fifa 2003 (DVD) just won't get past the loading screen (it briefly flashes up then the screen goes black).

My PS2 is a V3 can anybody give any advice?

There are known problems with the Magic3 chip and DVD backups.

During gameplay some games (Kingdom Hearts & GTA Vice City to name two) will randomly freeze.

Originals and CD-R backups will play fine, the problem is with DVD-R or DVD+R

My advice to you would be to replace the Magic 3 with a Messiah 2 (if you can find an installer to tackle your v3 )
