ps2 cd backup issues

I just bought the gameshark (its a cd, with the black bottom) and trying to make a backup of it before my siblings can destroy the original... Same with contra: shattered soldier (expect the bottom is blue)

I have tried following the tutorials using record now max, demos of cdrwin, alcohol 120% and nero and for some reason keep getting disc read errors only from ps2 cd media only.
I can backup my ps2 dvd games fine with record now. I have tried on my dvd-rom drive and cd-rw drive on my computer and same issues and a cd-rom drive on another computer. Any idea? These are both brand new discs so it's not like there unreadable.

What ModChip Do You Have?

Id Say Use DVD Decrypter.

The Directions May Not Be Accurate 100% Because I Dont Have A Gameshark CD (BUT SHOULD BE FAIRLY CLOSE), So Heres What You Do:

Use DVD Decrypter.
Edit The Settings By Going To
Tools >
Settings,
Then The ISO Write Mode Tab, And Select CD.
Then The ISO READ Mode Tab, And Make It So It Removes All Protections.
Then Go To MODE: ISO Read And Copy The Image.
Then Click On HD To DVD (The Button On The Bottom)
When That Is Done
Go To MODE: ISO Write File
Find The File
And Now Click HD To DVD
And You Should Have A Copy Of It...

Also...

Tell Me If This Works / Does Not Work, And We'll See From There.

Again What ModChip Do You Have?
And What Actually Happens When U Insert The Backup Of The Gameshark?

You will need a no-swap modchip in order to boot backed-up copies of GS/AR discs. What modchip you got ?
