PS2 Backup: Does this work?

Hi,

Ok, i've been asked to backup a backup of a PS2 game for a workmate, his brother copied my workmates original for him, but now his brother has moved to Oz. Which leaves me as the only person my workmate knows who has a dvd writer.
To be honest i'd rather not dabble in console games, its not what I bought a dvd writer for.

The backed up disc I have is a good quality -R, i've tried with NERO (dvd to nrg) and DVD Decryptor (dvd to ISO) and burnt the images back both ways. The acid test for me is if my dvd-rom can read the disc, which it cant in both instances.
I'm using RitekG04 -R's at 4x (also tried 2x), my burner is the MSI DRA4 (with v2.23 firmware, which cures the much publicised dvd-r problem).
Also tried a Ritek G04 +R and that worked in my dvd-rom
Is it possible for me to just drag all the files off the 'original' to my hd and burn with NERO as a data dvd? If so, what about the Joliet settings?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ol' Clueless.
