program crashes when playing videos

hi,

ok, another problem on yet ANOTHER computer; when i play avi's, it plays ok for a few minutes and then the sound stutters and then the program crashes; that happens with bsplayer and powerdvd; i think it' s hardware /driver related but i dont know how to fix it; i installed the xvid codec and the ffdshow

it used to play fine until i had to reformat and do a fresh install of win2k

please advise

first try uninstalling ur codecs,try with 1 @ a time 2 c if i it crashes...do u use any codec packs btw?

Where are your AVIs, at HDD or at CD/DVD? Or doesn't it matter?
