proggie uninstall probs

just lately im having probs uninstalling software, i get an error come up:- could not open INSTALL.LOG FILE
i thought id do a system restore but that goes thru the motions and then wont restore. can anyone suggest anything other than me hitting it with a hammer....... thanx

Did you run before the problem occured some sort of registry cleaner like Norton utilities and such?

Or did you decide to have a little hard disk clean up session and have you deleted some of those innocent looking .txt files on your C drive?

cheers for the replys, i have run windows washer 4.8. ihave also ran spybot (not sure wether would make a difference or not. However the one prog that is giving me probs is cubase vst 5.1 i have tried to reinstalled it but it still wont let me uninstall......

just do it like poacher told:
- reinstall cubase vst 5.1 (without uninstalling) to the same place;
- reboot
- uninstall cubase

duracell ive done that but same error has come up, sorry to be pain but any other ideas would be apreciated....

Find all the Registry keys for the app, delete, then reinstall. You probably will have to reboot between deleting the keys and reinstalling if any DLLs are open still...
