If you are using Winamp 2.xx, there are several excellent proggies that can do volume equalization.

Do a search at w*w.winamp.com under volume controll. RockSteady 2.1 is an excellent plug-in for your problem.

Excelent idea,if you use winamp. If you burn to cd,use mp3gain.If you dont use winamp and dont burn a cd,use mymp3pro.Will scan all songs first, and all songs on your pc will have the same volume...

10x some more suggestions?
do someone know a crap that (like wavelab) but that can change them 4ever?

Well,if you dont like our suggest, why you dont use wavelab---its a good audioeditor, but for your task---needs---winamp ideas and mp3gain are perfect...

If you're looking to permanently alter the mp3 so it plays at a specified volume, try mp3trim (http://www.logiccell.com/~mp3trim/). It has a feature that lets you change the volume of the file to whatever you'd like.

Otherwise, use Wimamp with RockSteady. Or, my favorite mp3 player, MuzicMan (http://www.muzicman.com) It'll scan your database and set a volume level that's recalled when the mp3 is played.

Mp3trim Pro 1.6 is ok for songs lasting longer than 7 minutes, if you only want the ends trimmed!
The latest free version 178a is better, you can auto trim the ends and auto set the volume with it.
1.6 Pro only has the the auto end trimmer, not auto sound.
There is a new version 177a Pro but I have never seen it on any of these sites.

Download Corrupt

I downloaded it twice, scanned it with an av program and a trojen detecter before trying to unzip it.
Both times it says download corrupt or (something else) the message is gone before I can read it.
Thanks anyway

Hi xbenchman
Twice I had the download manager turned off.
The third time I tried it with the download manager and got the same result (The Compressed Folder Is Invalid Or Corrupt)
It is probably me, I will try it again in the morning.
Thanks

The problem with using an editor such as GoldWave to edit an mp3, is that the file has to first be decompressed to a wav file, then re-encoded back to mp3 afterward.

Doing that will degrade the sound quality and result in an mp3 that sounds worse than the original.
