Problems with Sony cd drive

I have partitioned my hd, my cd drive copies cds at 16x speed on the first partition, that's normal, but it only gets 4x speed while copying to the second.

I have enabled DMA mode, and i have tried master and slave mode. The drive is switched at the secondary ide bus, the primary slave and master are ocupied.

I had this problem with Nero once (back in the 5.5.4.9 days). If you are using Win 98 it maybe your ASPI layer. If you are using Nero you can download an updated ASPI layer from their website. If you are not using Nero, go to Adaptec (h__p://www.adaptec.com) instead, search (keyword: ASPI, Windows 98) and download theirs. This fixed my problem when I was on Win 98.
