Problems with Roxio EZ Cd Creater 5 Plat.

When I burn data CD’s this program dose what it's supposed to do, however when I try to burn a music CD the burn process go's through perfect but when I go to play it on my home stereo it will go through the tracks but won't play. I then tryed to finalize the CD, session and all other options. Tryed to lower the burn speed but that also failed to play. Yes, my stereo can play CDR disc but these won't do it some how? I would appreciate a (n) immediate response, Thank You!

I had this problem when I gave V5 a tryout about a year ago when it first came out. It was getting right on my tits! It would even happen in CD copier as well!!!

What did I do to solve this?

Dump the piece of crap that's what! :D

I then started using Nero which is OK, then I kept seeing pokopiko rec this prog called "NTI CD Maker 200 Pro" all over the shop. I thought this guy seems to know what he's talking about so I gave it a try.

The guy did know what he was talking about :D , and I have not looked back since. Thanks pokopiko.

So ditch it m8, and use the progs below for best results.

CD copying: Clone CD

General data: NTI CD Maker Pro or Nero

Audio: Feurio or EAC

Roxio really messed up the Adaptec EZ-CD Creator. The Deluxe 4.x versions of EZ-CD Creator work fine - but Platinum is pure sh*t. I couldn't burn at 12 speed on my LiteOn and I thought it was the burner - never suspected it was Platinum 5.0 causing the buffer underruns. Roxio Platinum 5 should be removed from the retail shelves and used as cheap landfill!

I have to laugh - Roxio made the CDR drivers fro XP, but if you try to install Platinum on XP (Made for XP my left tit!) - the drivers conflict and nothing works! Roxio is a joke - not even worth being a warez item.

Then I gave Nero a try.

Never burned another coaster afterwards at 12x.

And did you know - Platinum can't even burn from a standard ISO? I wasted a couple bucks and found out from Roxio tech support (another joke - took 6 calls) that there is a problem with Platinum 5.x and standard ISOs.

I tried NTI before - got it free with the LiteOn. Really wasn't impressed with it. It's nice for a free bundle, but if I had a choice between it or Nero - I'd stick with Nero. But Clone CD and Feurio are tops in my book.

I Do agree with all the above post on the abilities of EZ Cd creator (or Lack thereof) but I do have one suggestion if you still intend to keep it on your machine... had similar problem when using roxio's/cequadrant's Winon CD software application version 3.7/3.8

Had to change my burning method from the default of track at once to disk at once method. Worked fine after that.....However the lack of Roxio Support and updates drove me to use the only program that I rely on now .....Nero....it does everything I need 5.7 even encodes mp2/mp1/videocd/mp3 from avi and wav ....nice powerfull tool that blows EZ CD away.
Good Luck.........

hi

how long should it take to format a cd-rw using direct cd?

i'm sure when i used to use ahead incd1.3 it literally took a few seconds when you inserted a brand new cd-rw.

now with direct cd 5 it takes nearly 15 mins.

your help is greatly appreciated

roxio direct cd

Roxio direct cd takes a while to format the cd/rw
When the screen comes down in lower right hand corner there are settings for the drive speed--mine default at 4x.
Change the read and write speeds to max--these maxs are for your burner.
First one i did took 45 mins at 4x--turned up to 10x and now about 20

Roxio will also let you format a cd-r for drop and drag functions.
Do the same with a cd-r to format only it takes less than a minute to set up the table of contents structure.

the only problem is if you do not have direct cd running in the background it will not let you eject the drive.

Be forewarned the format of a cd-r is nice but when it screws up for whatever reason roxio decides. It is a tough time getting your data back off to reburn...i've lost files to the never never land when the cd-r crashed.

My suggestion is if you decide to format a cd-r to do drop and drag do not delete the original data till after you have closed the disk and checked the disc in another drive other than the burner to verify it did what it said.

If you have any more trobles just post--been fighting roxi cremator and direct disk destroyer since plat 5.0

Hopefully this will help and not confuse..

roxio

You can somewhat deactivate roxio direct cd. You will have to remove it from the start up menu.

If I want direct cd I double click if not i usually alt ctrl del and end task..It is crappy software with lots of bugs.

I ditched the sleazy cd creator and kept the direct cd with limited use
