Problems saving taskbar and turning off OfficeXP Language toolbar

Greetings all:

My Windows XP Pro was working fine. During the last day, I ran Registry Compressor Pro followed by O & O Defrag Pro. The problem I am having on both machines is that once I logoff or restart, the task bar will be on the bottom hidden and I have hold the mouse and drag it back up. Also, the toolbar setting of turning off Language toolbar for Office XP won't stick since it will turn back on each time after logoff or rebooting. Anyone knows what I can do to fix this and which reg keys control this? I'm using FAT32 still. Thanks.

For Task Bar:
1. Go to Start
2. Click setting, and click Task bar & Start Menu
3. Unclick Auto Hide Task Bar
4. Choose Show Quick Launch

Go to control panel and choose Regional and Languages:
1. Regional Options English should be high lited (if not choose English)
2.Languages click Details make sure English is high lited click Language Bar Unclick any boxes that are checked
3. Advanced Make sure English is high lited
4. Click apply

Office XP
Open Word choose Tools, Languages make sure English is high lited.

That should do it

For the taskbar, in WinXP, it seems I have to right click on start
and then properties on the menu which gives me Taskbar and Startmenu properties. From there, I click on taskbar and it shows the following unchecked - Lock the task bar, Auto-hide the taskbar
while the following are checked:
Keep the taskbar on top of other windows, Group similar taskbar buttons, show quick launch. But for some reason, after I logoff, the settings don't save. The same thing with the Office XP language bar issue.

Any ideas?

Yup go programs, accessories, system restore, and restore
your system to before running reg. comp. and O&O (for some reason I had trouble after I defraged with O&O defrager) This should help
if not you might want to reinstall XP & Office XP (with Office you can choose the repair option) I would do that after you restored your system and before you reinstall XP) that is if you have to reinstall XP.

Well, restore doesn't work since the HightPoint 370 Raid driver breaks that function. I never gotten System Restore to work anyways. Dunno about reinstalling XP since it's a big hassle. So does O&O always do that on every defrag or only on the first full defrag?

I've use HighPoint Raid Drivers also HighPoint has an updated Raid Driver might want to try that.
I don't know if O&O does it every time I only tried it twice and that was enough.
As for reinstalling XP when all else fails what else can you do, it's not such a big hassle XP saves all your programs, I found that it just fixes whats f**ked up. other than that I'm out of ideas Sorry I couldn't help you.

That isn't the problem. The problem is that I have to do all the tweaks and the updates all over again which is the hassle. The problem with updated highpoint drivers is that it's not recommended to use drivers that doesn't match the version of the highpoint bios which is part of my mobo.
