Problems deleting a folder('s)

I'm trying to delete a folder which contains nothing apart from a empty subfolder. I tried deleting the subfolder and keep getting the same error message ' cannot delete file or folder: cannot read from file or disk' (see attached)

Tried deleting through command/dos prompt: same message.
I cannot copy the folder either.

Tried searching the microsoft knowledge base with no luck.
If anyone can help me, i'll be very happy?!
:p

try running scan disk on the drive in question !? it may or may not have corrupt sectors !? had a similar sort of problem a defrag and a scan disk fixed this :)

There are sevral ways to delete such folders (which usually have characters not allowed by the running filesystem- so they are considered "inexistable").
An easy one is getting O@O Safe Erase trial version, which is able to erase such files+folders with ease- something that does not happen with most security/wiping utilities. You can get the trial here and see if it fits your needs.

Yey it's deleted!! :) :)

I tried scandisk but it didnt do anything, still couldn't delete the folders.

I tried scarecrow's recommended prog, and it worked a treat!!!
Cheers scarecrow i'm forever in your debt!!!!:p

4 scarecrow:
The problem is somewhere else: my folder was named CAOTD and I had the same problem, I wasn't able to delete it. And this problem lasts even when I reboot my comp.
But once, I simply tried to do it again and kernel didn't say anything against and deleted that folder... :)
