Problems backing up Traffic CRITERION Edition on ALL programs...?

I am having issues backing up Traffic CRITERION DVD 1 in ANY program! :-/

I tried DVD Shrink 3.1, ImageCopy, even the Hidden Image Copy access.

When I use IC, I get an error that says error accessing icopy.exe or something similiar.

When I use DVDShrink, I get an error saying that VIDEO_TS_01.VOB invalid or not found. What's wierd is that there isn't any file by that name.

When I tried using IC's hidden settings, I can copy the files to my HDD. I can even create an image and mount it virtually and watch through the DVD. However when I try to reduce the size with either IC or DVDShrink, I get the same errors again. I tried shrinking the files and the image. Both give the same error as before.

Is this some king of anti-copy tech? Am I doing somthing wrong? Was it authored incorrectly? I never like to lend out my orignals to freinds (especially Criterions) and would really like to get a copy of this.

DVD 2 copys just fine. DVD 2 has a label of "TRAFFIC", while DVD 1 is labeled "DVD IMAGE" or something like that.

Thanks

As before, DVD Shrink Errors out.

DVD Decrypter rips fine. As soon as I attempt to load the VIDEO_TS.IFO file though, I get the same error:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and can't continue.
Failed to open file "...\Video_TS_1.VOB"
The system cannot find the fiel specified.

As I said, the odd thing is that there is no VIDEO_TS_1.VOB on the original disc. So why woudl the program want to open a file by that name. All I can think of is an issue with the IFO?

For some reason I am wondering if its an IFO or DVD Creation issue. The ripped files play fine on the PC, I jsut can't seem to load the IFO to shrink them.

Update:

Used 3.0 b5 and was able to open other IFO files. However, I cannot open the main VIDEO_TS.IFO. Does that sound liek a issue with the authored file to anyone else?

Update #2:

I hope someone here is interested in lending me a hand with this.

I've narrowed down the problem to an issue with the menus. If I back up the disc w/o menus, everything works OK. Otherwise, I get an error saying VIDEO_TS_1.VOB Menu error. SInce no file exsists by that name, I am assuming that the link should be to VTS_1.VOB or something like that.

Is there any way that I can correct that? I don't see anything similiar to those links in IFO edit.

Would I need to reauthor the DVD in something like Adobe Encore? If so, how would I go abotu doing that?

ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated....

I don't suppose you've come up with a way to fix it? I've tried, though not very hard cause damned if i know what i'm doing, to fix it. I haven't had any success. I was hoping you might have, cause i'm a purist and i like to have the menus on the dvd. Thanks in advance for any advice ;)
