Problem with Windows XP and Office XP

I have Windows XP with SP1 installes and Office XP. Sometimes when i use Office, it suddenly exits by itself or the computer reboots. I installed 3DMark 2001 SE and
i had the same symptoms. I have a P4 1.8ghz, gigabyte 8pe667 256mb 333mhz and a geforce 2 mx400. Any sugestions??

"Problem with WindowsXP and OfficeXP-Answer"

XpOffice installs a service/helpprogram called "Machine Debug Manager" for compatibility or whatever. When I managed the following configurations it stoped it's annoying crashes!

1. From StartMenu run...services.msc
locate and mark "Machine Debug Manager"
right-click it and choose "Properties"
-change startmethod from "Automatic" to "Manual" click "OK".
Now you stop the service "Machine Debug Manager"!

2. From StartMenu run...regedit.exe
go to "hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\Machine Debug Manager\Never Terminate"- in the right pane be sure to remove any entries that point to other programs/applicatons that is not Officerelated!

3. From StartMenu run...regedit.exe
go to "hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\control\crashcontrol"- in the right pane doubleclick "Autoreboot"
-change the value to zero(0) decimal!

Close regedit and reboot! - Voila!
