Problem with sound

Hi, i am new to this site, as well as new to ripping dvd's. I attempted to rip the fast and the furious and it ripped successfully. The program i used was "DVD Decrypter" and the movie was cut into 5 seperate files that play well. But when i tried the 2nd and 4th part, there was no sound. The disc was quite scratched. What is the likely problem?
