problem with sound after converting

i tried to convert a dvd image to xvid or divx. I used isobuster to get the original .img (i think) to .vob etc.... and then used vidomi (using settings from chickenman's tutorial) to convert to divx, but the sound wasn't in sync with the video. Also, it was stuttering, but in a weird way tho; at first, i thought the stuttering was intentional (b/c it's a concert music video) special effect lol but then i dont think so b/c the stuttering happens for a long time.

I dont know what could cause that.

u used wat 4 audio?lame?if u used abr, maybe zat could cause ur divx not 2 be sync coz i got this prob with encoding my audio to abr instead of cbr.
hopes zat helps pal ;)

yes i think i used lame , so how did u fix your problem? or did u ever get it fixed?

i use solely cbr instead of abr..wat lame acm r u using?i use v3.92(old i think :D )..u should use stable releases like 3.92 or better ;)

Although AVI spec does not support VBR audio I used to use VBR mp3 audio without any problems.

However I haven't used AVI in awhile (I now use ogg or aac audio so AVI is definatly out). I would suggest converting to a seperate mp3, a seperate video stream and then muxing the two.

I also wouldn't recommend using Vidomi. You might want to try GordianKnot instead, although I haven't used that in awhile either, I believe it now supports AVISynth 2.5.x, VirtualDubMod, etc. though.

celtic u used which lame or did u compress it with besweet?

agree with ya...vidomi is somewat a pain now (4 me :p)
gordian knot is somewat difficult 2 understand to use @ first, but if u follow a good tutorial,it will be fine & u can even do it manually after with virtualdubmod ;)

BeSweet uses LAME for mp3, so I don't get your question.

aac is a standard there are various different encoders; quicktime, ahead, sorenson, etc.

Like I said, I haven't use GKnot in awhile, but I remember it being pretty dam easy to use.
