Problem with Musicmatch Jukebox

Hi. I hope someone can help me here. I have just installed Musicmatch 7.2 (never had musicmatch on my system). It installs with no problem, but when I call it up it just sits there (freezes). If I put my pointer on it, it is an hour glass and I can't click on anything. I eventually have to hit ctrl-alt-dlt to shut the program down.

If I click on a music file it will start up and play it but still the same thing...I can't access anything. If I put my pointer on it, It is just an hour glass.

I even uninstalled and redownloaded and reinstalled. Same results though.

I am running XP Pro. Can anyone help me with this problem?

Thanks
Tony

seems to be a problem between different burning engines;
MM JB installs an own (crappy Roxio) burning engine; this maybe conflicts with your installed burning software and/or the XP build in burning engine (Imapi service);

try to disable the Imapi service and/or uninstall other burning software

another problem could be an installed (wrong) ASPI layer;

Duracell...Thanks for your response.

I have winoncd 5 (roxio) installed, but I never had a problem with it at all. I also have cdmate. Again never had a problem. I never installed a aspi on my xp. I didn't seem to ever need it. Winamp and windows media player runs fine no problems there either.

Thanks

Imapi is a system service which can be accessed via control panel/admin options/services. Rightclick imapi there on the extended tab and set it to disabled.
did you deactivate the Imapi Service?
i have no more ideas;

just curious, if you have been using winamp, then why the need for musicmatch? they both serve the same purpose.

Hi Duracell. Yes I did disable imapi, but still the same problem.

Hi ubamous3. This software came with my Archos mp3/hardrive player. And it's the only player that will send my playlist and other music direct to this player. Also I installed it on my comp at work and I really liked it. I just figured since I paid for it I would like to use it.

It's just weird I can install any other player without any problem except musicmatch.

I even tried an earlier version (V6) with the same lousy results. It starts up but I can't do anything with it. It just sits there frozen!

I had this problem too and fixed it!

Yup, I know this one. I downloaded a program called "truevoice" and it had installed itself as a default audio device. So when I fired up MMJB it just froze there. Now you may not have "truevoice" but you may have some other default device that is causing the problem and will need to remove it.

Here's how to check:

Click on "Start", "Settings", "Control panel."
Select "Sounds, speech and audio devices."
Click on "Sounds and audio devices."
Click on the "Audio" tab.
Under "Sound playback", in the drop down device box if you see any other device beside your sound card you will need to uninstall it.

Once I did the it was "Blitzkreigpop!"

Well I checked my sound devices in control panel and my sound card is listed as the default. This is driving me crazy because it's the only player that won't play on my system and of course it just happens to be the one I want to use!

A new version of MMJB has just been release (version 7.5). Goto h__p://www.musicmatch.com and download it. Who knows, it may help!

God I wish they'd bring back the serials and keygens. The site has become so mundane.

I tried the new version 7.5 but still no joy :mad: I emailed thier tech support and submitted all the info they asked for but I haven't heard back from them.

Here's another idea to try if you have the time and are not too lazy.

1) Completely uninstall MMJB (and delete the left over directory)
2) Uninstall (I prefer uninstall first not install on top of) your sound card drivers and reboot PC then reinstall the drivers.
3) Install MMJB.

As I have mentioned earlier, my problem was with an additional audio device besides my sound card being installed.

Just a suggestion!

No No Please.....I don't want to do format c :eek:

I think I can use realone to do the same things I wanted to do with Musicmatch. Please don't flame me for using realone...I know that a lot of people don't like this program.
