problem with mozilla 1.4

hi ppl
i'm currently having a problem with my mozilla.the prob is that i can't save anything with this browser...sounds stupid but i can't find where the problem lies...i'm currently on win xp,where i'm having this problem ,while on 2k i didn't ...thought it was firewall which was blockin it,but even with firewall switched off i can't save anything...while my download manager can download...any ideas?

A corrrupt user profile, probably?
Create a new one, and see what happens (Moz user profiles are stored in /Documents and Settings/{username}/Application Data/Mozilla/Profiles).
Another reason for this if you still use an old extension or theme which does not go with the new version. Whenever upgrading Mozilla it's advisable backing up your profile folder first, and then uninstalling the old release, and deleting the /Program Files/Mozilla directory. Your old profile would most ikely still be intact, but if something is wrong you have the previous backup of it.
But first, start disabling your extensions and switching to the default chrome theme.

ok,i tried creating another profile,still same problem...i'm used 2 specify my profile @ a certain location,i.e on another partition instead of default one...gonna try cleaning my chrome folder & re installing mozilla..thx

i've uninstalled mozzie & re installed it...seems 2 b workin back 2 normal now

Glad to hear that... a bad shutdown or a buggy addon sometimes corrupts the user profile, and this may well cause problems. Some extensions/plugins do NOT install in the profiles directory 9which s the sensible thing to do- you don't have to reinstall them when you upgrade) but in the application directory, so in many cases they get overrided with bad results, especially if they register several registry entries.
