Problem with Easy Audio CD Creator

Hi,

I just downloaded a trial version of Easy CD-DA Extractor and tried to burn an Audio CD from some MP3 files. However, in test mode I get a write error within a few seconds while writing Table of Contents. Looked on web-site for problem solving and tried enabling DMA - didn't help. Disabled auto insert notification - didn't help. Tried burning at slower speeds....was even worse!

Questions:

1. Is this crap software?
2. Am I doing something stupid?
3. Any answers?

Using Win 98SE and a Ricoh burner.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

AIN problems shouldn't show up in test mode, sonce the CD is not written. It IS tracked, so try another blank in case the first had a fault (I've had the odd pinhole before now)

I wouldn't waste time with a trial of THAT anyway...

The burn function in exactaudiocopy may work for you..
Feurio is 100% nagware trial (no time or function limit enforced)

And http://www.mp3surgeon.co.uk/doctor.php mp3 Cd Doctor FREE

Thanks

I did try another CD, but got the same result. Decided to dump the program and try one of your recommended prog's.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated!

Thanks again!

Many thanks for your feedback pokopiko. I must admit I did like the look of the EZCDDA program and it seemed simple to use. I'm a newbie to burning MP3 as you probably guessed. MP3 CD doctor is very basic, but did work O.K, apart from somehow switching the order of the first and last tracks. In time I would like to learn how to use EAC, as I've read how good it is.

I'll keep an eye open for Burnatonce - sounds interesting!

Thanks again for your response.

What's your NORMAL burn program - you usually get one with the drive, unless the stingy sods expect you to use the built-in WinXP features?

And if you don't have a standard burn-program, some "accidental freebies" can be found.

1. Sony Cd Extreme - one valid "full" download remains, *** reputed not to work with latest PXENGINE updates
2. Iomega Hotburn and Pro (search in forum) - it MAY be fixed by now
3. The UPDATE version of another one was reported to be fully installable if you broke the archive and used the MSI file directly without their setup (it's probably fixed by now, and the details are uncertain - it MAY have needed additional interference)

I just changed my PC and the Teac Burner is bundled with Nero. I've used it a bit in the past with very mixed results. Wasn't too impressed with the stability. Maybe it's improved! I think I'm gonna try the latest trial version of RNM. I don't know how good it is for audio stuff.

Thanks for your feedback.

Cheers,

Rob

Record Now Max problems burning audio cd

Hi,

Gave RNM 4.5 Trial a test. For data stuff it's great. However, when burning an audio cd from Mp3 files on my hard drive, it has a habit of burning blank tracks. Checked out the RNM forum and others have experienced similar problems. Followed all advice given, but it only burned 2 good cd's out of 5!!! 2 had one track missing and 1 had 3 tracks missing. You can see the affected tracks on the reverse of the CD as rings are formed. Anyone else experienced this problem or have an answer. The Stomp tech support don't!

I think it's back to my bundled Nero for now.

Maybe the problem are your downloaded (non standard) MP3 files? maybe the programms (RNM, Nero) cannot decode them "on the fly";
Got you the failures always with the same files/titles?

Greetings from

Hi Duracell,

Thanks for your reply. As far as I'm aware they're standard MP3 files. The tracks that RNM fails with are always random, so there's no pattern that I can say a problem with a particular track exists. This is also what other users have mentioned on the RNM forum. On the occasion that 3 tracks were blank I'd increased buffers from 256 to 512 and decreased burning speed to 4 x.

I just burned first audio cd from the same files with Nero Express and that was O.K. It's a shame because I like RNM more than Nero if I'm honest. However, Nero works better for me for audio (so far).

Cheers,

Rob
