Problem with bbMEG (avi2mpeg)

Hi!
I have a very big problem with the programm.
I syncronization a video or splitt it with TMPGEnc.
Now i had to run bbMEG. I select start encoding and then select setting. In the Input and Output files tab wen i click to Open PS the Programm end.
If anybody know the problem and can help me?

Hmm.. I have never had a problem with bbMPEG and I use it daily. What version are you running? Has it just started to crash or is this the first time your used it?

Try installing DVD2SVCD and use the version of bbMPEg that comes with that, I have found it VERY stable indead.

I also, have one slight problem with bbMPEG.
What are the steps you have to go through to get it to encode to MPEG-2? By default, it appears to encode to MPEG-1.

A couple of other notes:
1) The program avi2mpg2.exe usually crashes whenever I try to load an avi file into the program.

2) So since that happens for me quite often I have to use avi2mpg2_vfw.exe.

3) This is the version of the program that comes with the latest version of DVD2SVCD

Fropm their homesite http://members.cox.net/beyeler/bbmpeg.html , it quaotes:
AVI2MPG2 known problems

If you cannot get AVI2MPG2 to open an AVI file correctly, try using AVI2MPG2_VFW instead. It is a Video For Windows version that works with the later versions of bbMPEG. It will not open all AVI types however, but it should work correctly with most MJPEG AVI's.

Audio input from MPEG files may not work correctly with AVI2MPG2 depending on the DirectShow filters used.

One last problem concerns opening MPEG-2 or VOB files. Depending on the MPEG-2 or VOB DirectShow filters installed, AVI2MPG2 may not work correctly. If the video is displayed in the preview windows correctly, it should work.

All testing was done with DirectShow (part of DirectX Media) version 6.0 and DirectDraw version 7.0. If you have older versions of these installed it might help to install the newer versions from http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/default.asp .
Although it doesnt say directly, but I'm sure I have read it will NOT convert highly compressed AVI's like DivX or Xvid. They need to be uncompressed or Huffyuv, MJPEG, etc, compressed AVI's only.

Oh and also, one last thing is this, when I try to go to Open PS from running Runbbmpeg.exe, my copy of the program also crashes. Again, this is the version that comes with the latest version of DVD2SVCD, I might possibly try downloading DirectX 9.0 tonight and see if that fixes anything; doubtful, but worth a shot. Also, I really couldn't try any older versions of DirectX earlier than 8.1, since I'm running Windows XP Pro.

Ok, and hopefully just one last question about the DirectX Media 6.0... Do I need to download the Runtime or the SDK which was released last november, DirectX Media 6.0 SDK ?

Ok, I've downloaded the DirectX 6 Media Runtime file, installed it. Said it was installing some components on a small black window that popped up for about 10 seconds or so, then closed. I tried to open the input file in bbMPEG through use of the bbMPEG button once again, and the result was the same as it had been before, the program still had closed when I clicked it.

It"s a bug of BBmpeg. You have to select 'load' and then 'cancel' when the program is started. After that the program will work
fine.
There's a patch to correct that, a patched .dll , here is the link:

http://www.divx-digest.com/software/avi2mpg2.html

Hope that helps :)
