Problem with Adobe 6.0

Everytime I open up a pdf file, adobe begins to start then stalls at its loading screen. At this point, a windows messenger 5.0 installer starts and I cannot open that pdf file. Does this happen to anyone else?

PS any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

When U installed it, did U uninstall the older version, think U have 2 do that 4 it 2 work ok

In fact there are also two... ehmmm... versions of Acrobat 6 available currently (one full, one not so full) which do quite the opposite: They install in every system, but they will only work as an upgrade of Acrobat 5- although they are supposed to be full versions. These versions are available in many "stores", are you sure you have not "purchased"your version from there?
