Problem when burning!!

I'm trying to split a dvd-9 japanese anime series into 2 dvd-r keeping original menus on both. I've gone through the process... ripped in dvd decrypter, then made first 5 'items' on disc 1 and the next 6-10 on disc 2, with 3 menu items on both, then processed and got 2 errors in ifoedit (the sort of errors from micorosft that comes up saying ifoedit has to close, do you want to send an error report?) - but I just clicked don't send and ifoedit continued....... so I think I'm doing things right.

However when I then try to burn the files in either rcordnow max or nero I get an error saying "DVD-Video files reallocation failed. The resulting DVD-Video might be unplayable. Do you want to continue" - so I just cancelled.

What am I doing wrong? Any ideas or help?

cheers

sorry i'm not the specialist you need, but i would suggest to ignore/proceed instead; use a DVD-RW disc, and see if the disc is playable; so you don't waste media;

treelovinhippie.... sounds like to me you are leaving (deleted) something out that needs to be on both DVD's and it is mucking up the DVD structure causing IfoEdit to crash. Try leaving everything on disk 1 except 6-10 and then on disk 2 leave everything except 1-5 and see what happens. DON"T delete anything else on either disk. You might be deleting something that needs to remain on each disk to run properly. Good luck!

DVDstripper starts up IFOedit several times in the stripping process. The error that you get menas that on one the times IFOedit failed to complete its work in one step. And DVDstripper continues with the next step firing up IFOedit for next step. So it is not a suprise that the disk you make will not work.

Suggest you pay a visit to DOOM9 sit (http://www.doom9.org/) and go to sections guides, there you can find a clear guide what is needed to split DVD-9 in two DVD's using IFOedit

Furthermore why not use a program like Instantcopy or DVDschrink to fit the the total DVD after stripping of unwanted extra's on one DVD-5. You will hardly notice the difference
