problem shutting down win xp!

I have a problem shutting down win xp!you woody wrote this:

Win XP Won’t Completely Shutdown
Goto> Control Panel> Power Options.
- Click on the APM Tab, then check the "Enable Advanced Power Management support."
- Shut down your PC. It should now successfully complete the Shut Down process. I`ve tyed,but cant seem to find APM tab! I`m using win xp professional(2600)Any idea anyone?????

I meen that the under power options under control panel the only tabs is:power schemes,advanced,hibernate and ups!cant find AMP tab!!!
 
I know what you mean bud.The APM tab is gone on my system since the fix.I gave you a site with alternative steps/fixes.Also check on the advanced tab,make sure shutdown is showing in the window.Your motherboard might not support APM(not sure on that).
 
did u install the CD CREATOR 5? if u did, then uninstall it. i got the problem be4 as well . when i click shutdown, it goes restart the computer.
If u still get the same shit happen. i reckon u do the restore. or reinstall the XP again.
