Problem reading MP3 Discs

I have purchased a few discs full of mp3 albums from various sources (mainly market stalls) and seem to have the same problem reading the majority of them. I can play the first few albums without difficulty but as I try to select a track from "further into the CD" the drive just makes a noise and the PC hangs indefinitely. My drive is a Teac 40x, and is normally a brilliant drive - I copy audio CD's occasionally without problem. I have also tried the MP3 disc's in another PC (IBM Aptiva), not sure of drive make but the symptoms are identical.
Have I bought bad copies or is there possibly another issue - e.g. copy protection???

i think you've just been gibb'd from whom eva sold you those CDs... after all Mpeg Layer 3 (MP3) are just data files afterall... CD drives shouldn't have problems reading formulated data made especialy for them...

it's assumed that both different PCs have same symptoms and therfore it's the CDs' at fault... (and yes TEAC are lovely drives)

i doubt you can get a refund... after all they were form an open air market...
